Aber auch Gauck schnitt verhältnismäßig sehr gut ab, mit 494 Stimmen. Viele Enthaltungen gab es, die meisten aus den Linken, weil sie anscheinend lieber dem schwarz-gelben Kandidaten zum Sieg verhelfen, als endlich, wie sie es doch eigentlich immer in Interviews betonen, mit ihrer SED-Vergangenheit abschließen, wie es einige rot-grüne Politiker formulierten.
